Biography:

Sofia Salazar-Rubio is on the cutting edge of American Tribal Style® belly dance as a member of FatChanceBellyDance® and co-founder of Tessera Tribal. She has been devoted to studying ATS® at the San Francisco Mothership for over a decade. As a technique obsessive, Sofia is passionate about helping others elevate their ATS to the next level. When she isn’t dancing, Sofia produces, edits, and co-hosts “The Cue,” an ATS podcast (available on SoundCloud, iTunes, and Spotify). With her thoughtful and unique insights, Sofia is becoming a well-known voice in the ATS community. Tessera puts an exciting twist on the existing ATS® vocabulary and formations to create something new and unexpected out of the familiar - all while remaining true to the spirit of effortless and organic group improvisation.

Jesse has been a dedicated student of ATS® and Fusion for over 15 years. Her dance journey has taken her across continents to study, teach, and perform. She feels incredibly lucky to perform and teach alongside FCBD®, perform with Ariellah Aflalo’s Deshret Dance Company, and is a founding member of Tessera Tribal. Alongside her partner in crime, Sofia Salazar-Rubio, she also co-hosts the ATS® Podcast “The Cue”. As an instructor, Jesse enjoys infusing students with confidence and fabulous technique all while keeping it fun!
