Saturday, June 25: 3:30-5:30 pm: Full On with 3/4 Shimmies!
A complete and thorough breakdown of a variety of 3/4 walking shimmies that will add a whole new level of cool complexity to your travelling and drum solos. We will analyze, progressively approach, and drill each 3/4 shimmy, including fun variations and extra travelling patterns and layers.
Skill level: Beginner and Intermediate.
Sunday, June 26: 12:30-2:30 pm: Belly dance Anatomy & Injury Prevention
Learn to dance safer and stronger! We will cover muscles important to Belly dance with regard to great arm flow, confident posture, juicy core movement, and sharp hip work, as well as keeping hips, knees, and backs safe. We will cover anatomy, strengthening, stretching, and the application of biomechanics to Belly dance movement. This class is a combination of lecture and movement.
Bring a yoga mat.
Skill level: All levels.
