How to take care of your gorgeous adornment for all dance styles. We will cover transporting, storing, repairing, refurbishing, and safely cleaning your dance attire. We will talk about what to pack in your “gig bag,” including standard and emergency supplies. What about wardrobe malfunctions? How do you handle glitches on stage? What can you do in advance to prevent problems? Take care of your dance tools, and they will take care of you and preserve their beauty much longer.
Bring your gig bag for discussion.
Skill level: All levels.

Sunday, June 26: 10:00 am-12:00 pm: Veil Work to Enhance Your Dance!

A veil can create mystery, help fill stage space, and express the flow of your mood in the taqsim. Plus, it can give you an opportunity to playfully interact with an audience in a smaller setting! We will explore all these techniques and tools to frame your dance with veil magic. We will cover, how to put it on, how to “dance it off,” trouble shoot potential issues, discard it safely, retrieve your beautiful accessory, and exit like a queen! Handouts will be included on combos and veil tucking styles.
Bring a basic rectangular chiffon or silk veil (at least 3 yards).
Skill level: Continuing beginner to advanced.
